I am a radio enthusiast, dx-er, and enjoy listening to AM radio stations on mediumwave, especially from South

America, UK, USA and Canada. They are kinda hard to catch with a normal radio, but the hobby is like fishing

or hunting – you have to wait for the right moment and you have to be patient.

My dx QTH (headquarter) is located 80 km north of Stockholm and 20 km east of Uppsala. It´s a very old place,

the history records prove that people lived here even back in 1752!! Now it is mainly a summer cabin for me and

my family and during wintertime – my radio schack during dark hours.

My receivers are one AOR 7030 Plus and one AOR 7030 Plus (retro upgraded) with NB7030 notch/noise blanker.

Two JRC - a modified NRD 525 with PLAM and a NRD 535D receiver.  In July 2007 I purchased a SDRIQ – simply put -

an innovative dx-machine which I loved from day one.

Since there is no disturbing AC power available, the receivers are powered with 12 V DC batteries. The batteries

are during summertime, easily charged by the nature itself – solar cells.

My antennas are longwire beverages:

600                 330                                      west US/Canada

850                 316                                      central US/Canada

990                 300                                      east US/Canada

660                 270                                      Central/South America and UK

880                 250                                      South America

Each antenna is terminated at the far end (with slope). I also use a preamplifier made by Stefan Wikander and a remote antenna

switch/transformer made by Bernt-Ivan Holmberg.
